A Lokean Devotional Vignette
“Oh! You can be so creepy sometimes!” I nervous laugh
“You like creepy.” Loki says
“Omfg!”
“Yes?”
My smile burns red.
Roasted on the spit.

We’ve really had to discuss how to speak about this, the spiritual side of what happened to us with our first-ever Dom, who wasn’t a Dom at all, nor were we looking for a Dom. It’s very, well, chaotic, as you can tell by now. He was the person to introduce us to BDSM at all.
Our upbringing introduced us to a very classic dynamic within couples that made it feel natural to us. My mother and her mother and her mother were all submissive to their husbands. It was not only the spirituality we lived at the time, but also the dynamic in the home of our upbringing.
I remember my oldest brother asking me to cook for him on occasion. Like, literally, he asked me to make him a sandwich and another time a pie for his girlfriend. I did it with pride for having a skill that he needed. I was useful.
So, with this Dominant person, it was entirely natural to me that it would be the same. I was useful.
The issue is, my worldview was very cut off from the world at large. I only had a tiny perspective to go by and nothing else to gauge reality from. I still kind of prefer it that way, to be true. We’re already complicated, and humans are, and so I do actually prefer my world to be simple, while I also really love the complexity of reality, much like I enjoy a good story.

It is complicated to not sound completely off our rocker talking about the spiritual aspects. Well, but the D/s was always spiritual to us. That is right there to see within our upbringing. We treated it as holy. A communion between souls and God/s. It’s how we learned to open to our devotion and ekstasis at all. It is agape.

I rather like the plain texts on such things. Plainly and unabashedly is best.

Of course.

“Do continue your thought, sweetheart.” Loki dares, flint sparking in his eyes.
“I can’t find words for this. For you. This feeling.” Tears frame my face.
“And the issue is… what?”
“It’s frustrating. I want to share. I want to preserve the experience. I need to-”
“Do nothing but receive.” His grin quirks slyly. He knows exactly how to drive me crazy.

“I can’t offer you anything like what you give me or make me feel.” Hot tears roll down over my chin.
“I didn’t ask you to perform for me. Don’t,” Loki says sternly.
“Your heart, your love are the door I enter through. This worry? This insecurity? I don’t need it. I need you.”

“Your devotion asks me to dwell within you,” Loki says sweetly.
I feel him in my chest.

An Intimate Lokean Devotional
He’s a mad scientist I watch with curiosity. His hair wild, green eyes glowing with mischief. Leather straps buckle across his chest, matching the ones that cradle my wrists, holding them spread apart. My heart wide open as he likes it to be, for him, for me.
Restrained on the bed, I watch him mutter to himself as if I’m not here. I wonder when he’ll turn those glowing eyes on me, his attention on me, his love.
He suddenly slams his palms down on the workbench.
“Would you please ask me what I am doing, Love?” he says with mock frustration.
“What, what are you doing, Loki?”
“Waiting for you to notice me.”
A sly grin spreads across his face as he slips on a thin black glove. He wiggles his long, slender fingers for me to admire. My breath catches. The slightest embarrassment kisses my brain as I quiet myself from confessing:
I was waiting for him to notice me, too.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Dear Love,” he says, leaning over to kiss my forehead. His soft lips find my mouth.
Heat flushes through my body.
Aching for him.
