and I swallowed him
into my belly
sharply sweet
glowing
fallen petals
I’m stripped by wind
and weather
revealing stars
milky drive
air in my hair
sky-spinning
city lights
my eyes catching
diamond night
sky glitter tossed
from
smoking cannons
pressed
my heart
boom
fire powder
cracked whip
bending me back
waves
starlight held
drawn to center
remembering my devotion
through the seams
he tossed seeds
into rising night
I wore wishes in my heart
and kept stars in my apron.
the raven
blended
into shadow-sweep
my eye became winged
heart splashes color
from my center to his middle
valiant, frantic dance
stars break night
