I watched
cerulean frozen caps
thaw behind his irises
ice cream
serving
melting
in my arms
I watched
cerulean frozen caps
thaw behind his irises
ice cream
serving
melting
in my arms
I yield
folding
into connection
stripped
turned under
bearing devotion
full heat
the gavel fell
softened by sheets
and his strange ways
By the scruff
of my neck
teeth
gentle against skin
I shiver
puddle
to the floor,
kneeling.
kneeling at the river’s edge
water lapping my legs
sand imprints beneath me
he pulls me under
tree shadow dance
river dark paling the sun
kissing until
i see stars
the earth lay fresh
i stepped into it
let it strip me down,
clay incensed
my chest opens
revealing ripe heart
hemorrhaging love
blood near his feet
the sound of coconuts falling
live-fire pressed into me
my ribs catch the sun
opening my spine
to it
heat moving
Serpentine green
sprouted from my chest
and hooked me
to love
face pinned
in starwash
I love you like this
