scald me
pinking
embarrassed
heating
beneath
my skin

flowers
of fire
dance inside
me
silk sun
flower
sigh open
shadows spill
over
salt wet skin
moth out
spreading
pepper flit
rusted woman
mineral dusting
flower tips
our love
slow mist risen
from flower pistil
breath to breath
kissing teeth
Spent flowers
rest my body.
head wilts back into soft grass,
my hand stills.
I breathe.
The earth carries me
as my wings lift.
The tiger sun bit into my petals,
burning them like blooming wasn’t work.
I turned inward,
pink with embarrassment
for having been outside too long.
Tending my root and scent,
twirling bright leaves,
distraction,
out from under big cat’s eye,
I crept along the twining fence.
purple up, lovely
spiraling into petals.
flesh green needs
wear evening wash
for me.
